MONITORING

JNPA Digital Twin monitoring dashboard

What is a DIGITAL TWIN?

JNPA Digital Twin is a browser-based 3D platform that provides a real-time operational view of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port. It visualizes key port assets—including terminals, vessels, cranes, trucks, gates, roads, and rail links—in a single interactive environment, enabling stakeholders to monitor operations, track movement, and identify congestion efficiently.

Core Capabilities

Real-time 3D port view

A live, three-dimensional visual of the entire port scene—terminals, roads, berths—all updating continuously so operators always see the current state at a glance.

Terminal activity visualization

Shows which terminal blocks and cranes are active, idle, or busy with cargo handling—making it easy to see resource usage across the port at any moment.

Rail and road flow mapping

Displays the movement of goods and vehicles along internal roads and rail links, including rake positions and any delays or diversions.

Operator notification overlays

Important alerts, warnings, and status updates are displayed directly on the 3D scene as overlays, so operators don't need to switch between screens to stay informed.

Vessel and truck tracking

Monitors the position and movement of ships and trucks within the port, showing where they are, where they're headed, and their current status (arriving, docked, queued, departing).

Gate congestion monitoring

Tracks vehicle queues and wait times at entry and exit gates, highlighting bottlenecks so operators can act before congestion spreads.

Event alert cascade

When one incident occurs (like a gate closure), the system automatically triggers and displays the chain of follow-on effects — rerouting, delays, alerts — across the port in sequence.

Scenario-based simulation

Allows planners to run 'what-if' situations—replaying past events or simulating future ones—to test responses and improve decision-making without affecting live operations.

Vessel Tracking Model

Tracks ship positions, berth status, and movement cycles across the port scene. It supports arrival, docking, operation, and departure states so operators can understand vessel flow clearly.

Landside Traffic Module

Visualizes trucks, road congestion, gate queues, and cargo rerouting around the terminal. This helps highlight bottlenecks and operational delays on the landside network.

Simulation Engine Module

Generates structured, repeatable state changes for port entities using deterministic logic. This allows the scene to replay scenarios and later connect to real port feeds.

Terminal Activity Module

Displays terminal blocks, crane operations, and cargo handling areas in 3D. It gives a clear visual picture of which terminal zones are active and how resources are being used.

Event Cascade Module

Handles operational incidents such as gate closure, inter-terminal transfers, ITHRO alerts, FOIS exceptions, and operator notifications. It shows how one disruption can trigger a visible chain reaction across port operations.

Tech Integration

Tracking Tech

The JNPA Digital Twin combines operational systems and simulated live data to deliver a unified, scalable, and intelligent real-time port view.
